About This Experience

Albania's Vjosa River is known as the last wild river in Europe — an untouched waterway winding through pristine wilderness and dramatic gorges. Our rafting excursion takes you through the spectacular Osumi Canyon near Berat, where towering limestone cliffs rise up to 80 metres on either side and crystal-clear turquoise water rushes below.

Whether you're a first-time rafter or an adrenaline veteran, the Osumi Canyon offers rapids for all skill levels. Paddle through Class II–III rapids, glide under natural rock arches, and stop at hidden swimming holes only accessible by raft. The canyon walls are ancient — carved over millions of years — and the experience of floating through them is unlike anything else in the Balkans.

After the rafting session, take the opportunity to explore the nearby UNESCO city of Berat — the "City of a Thousand Windows" — with its Ottoman-era houses and ancient hilltop castle. A perfect combination of adventure and culture.

"I just finished a 2000km 8-day trip arranged by ATC, and am still bathed in its afterglow. From the first email I received from them based on my tentative inquiry I was very impressed by their responsiveness and thoughtfulness."

"We had a great experience with The Albania Travel Company. We booked 2 tours with them because they had the most competitive prices. They even let me change the date on one of the tours last minute because of the weather. We ended up spending 4 days with Artan and it was great! 🤙"
